Understand acoustic, classical and electric guitar in the context of what you actually want to play and where you practise.
A practical 30-day guitar practice system for busy adults, working professionals, complete beginners and returning players living in Dubai.
Choose your guitar. Build a realistic routine. Learn your first songs. Track your progress. Then decide whether structured live coaching with HoM is the right next step.
Learning guitar as an adult in Dubai can compete with work, commuting, family responsibilities and everything else that fills a working week. The solution is not an imaginary two-hour daily schedule. It is a small, repeatable system that tells you exactly what to practise and why.
Understand acoustic, classical and electric guitar in the context of what you actually want to play and where you practise.
Use a 15-minute minimum routine on busy days and a 30-minute focused routine when your schedule allows more time.
Connect chords, rhythm and transitions to music you genuinely want to hear yourself play, including Bollywood and Hindi songs.
If you already own a playable guitar, do not buy another instrument just because you have started this guide. First ask whether your current guitar is comfortable enough to practise regularly.
A practical choice for many learners who want to sing while playing, learn Bollywood or pop songs, and practise without an amplifier. The strings can initially feel harder on the fingertips, so setup and comfort matter.
Nylon strings can feel softer on the fingertips and may suit classical or certain fingerstyle goals. The wider neck can feel different, so physical comfort should guide the decision.
Electric guitar can suit learners interested in riffs, lead playing and amplified styles. It also allows headphone-based practice with suitable equipment, which can be useful in an apartment setting.

Tune and settle your hands.
Treat this as a sequence, not an exam. If a day exposes a weakness, repeat the skill before moving forward.
Your progress is kept in this page while it is open. It is not uploaded anywhere by this tool.
There is no universally easiest song. Difficulty changes with the arrangement, key, rhythm and your current level. Choose one song, make it playable, then move to the next.

If you grew up with Hindi film music, your favourite songs can become the reason you practise. A chord becomes meaningful because it appears in a song. A rhythm becomes useful because it changes the feel of that song. A transition matters because it is the part that currently interrupts your playing.
Pick something you genuinely enjoy hearing. Avoid trying to learn ten songs at once.
You do not need to reproduce every detail of the original recording. Start with a version that matches your current technique.
Is the problem a chord, a transition, rhythm, timing or song structure? Practise that specific problem.
Finish practice with music. The point is to turn technical work into something you can actually hear and enjoy.
Do not design your guitar routine around your most optimistic day. Design it around an ordinary working week.
| Day | Minimum | Main focus |
|---|---|---|
| Monday | 15 min | Chords |
| Tuesday | 15–30 min | Chord transitions |
| Wednesday | 15 min | Rhythm |
| Thursday | 15–30 min | Song practice |
| Friday | Flexible | Review or rest |
| Saturday | 30 min | Longer song session |
| Sunday | 15–30 min | Review and next-week plan |
Move the days around your own work and family schedule. The goal is to spread practice through the week instead of trying to compensate with one huge weekend session.

Use these common open-chord names as a reference while working with your teacher or song arrangement. Fingering can vary by arrangement and player, so treat this as a naming sheet rather than a substitute for instruction.

| C | Open C shape | Check that each fretted string rings cleanly. |
